Furry Friends with Difficult Decisions

"Animals are reliable, many full of love, true in their affections, predictable in their actions, grateful, and loyal. Difficult standards for people to live up too," In the words of Alfred A. Montapert. Everybody needs a friend in the house, even if they have four legs and a tail. There are some similarities that dogs and cats have in common, they are also very different. Dogs and cats are two types of the most popular pets. Some people have one of each in their household, or just one of one. Through the multiple topics of each animal, we will look at the similarities and differences between the two. Maybe even find out why some people are cat lovers and dog lovers. Finances, life style, and rules and regulations will show a preview if anyone was to choose a cat or dog for adoption.
Cats are less expensive with food and medical bills, they even cost less if you want to adopt them. Finances, when it comes to a pet they are treated like a child most of the time, such as a new born baby. We make sure they eat healthy and stay safe. We take them to their doctor checkups and haircuts once a month, that all cost money. Dogs, big or little seem to cost the most according to ASPCA, American Society for the Protection of Cruelty to Animals. Small dogs $580 as your annual cost with the food, medical, toys, license, and misc. Medium dogs would add up to $695 and a large dog would total as $875. This is the insane, dogs for the first year the cost total will be from $1,314-$1,843. Some people did not know this and those people were shocked because they are dog lovers. On the other hand, cats are not so expensive as dogs, it shows that cats with their food, medical, little, toys and treats. Annual cost is $670, then the first year total is $1,035. A little bit of difference in financing, cats don’t make your finances go high but, it also depends on what your pets goes through.

"Shhh! Sound Health in 8 Steps"

In the Ted Talk “Shh! Sound Health in 8 Steps”, by Julian Treasure he mentions 8 steps on how you can improve your hearing. He mentions the bad side of sound and also the good side. Julian gave examples and key points about sound I never knew. Treasure said “Your body is a chord, it can feel everything; the vibration from my voice in the room. Definition of health is that that cord may be in complete harmony.” He says our ears cannot hear that cord, but they can hear ten octaves including, our ears are always on, even when we’re sleeping and that part made me smile a little because I’m a light sleeper the littlest noise can wake me up. In his Ted Talk he said ears are made for listening not hearing.

Noise kills, head phones bring three really big health issues. First, one is schizophonia its  a dislocation between from what you see and from what you hear. Inviting into our life’s the voices of peoples who are not present with us. Second, is cost of compression, squash music into our pockets; compressed music makes you tired and irritable. Third, Deafness, sixteen percent, one out of six teens suffers from damaged hearing; maybe we are raising an entire generation of deaf people This is the bad side of sound; sound also has a good side.

Treasure broke down the positive side with eight steps to improve sound in passive modalities and active modalities, one of them are ultra sound to treat physical therapy. Second is lithotripsy, saving thousands of people a year by pulverizing stones with high intensity of sound. Third, sound healing treating autism, dementia and other conditions. Forth, is music just listening to good music is good for you with good intentions. In active modalities, take some action and get involved. Fifth, listening consciously; sixth, create by singing, playing or speaking. Seventh, connect by choirs, groups, chanting or drum circles. Eighth, is care by protect, design, and speak up.

I thought it was interesting when he said headphones bring big health issues and one of the issues were schizophonia. I know now not to listen to music so loud and the funny thing is i like it that way.
